Season 1 Episode 6 Secret Sex

This episode makes me wish we were following Libby and her circle of friends.

We start with the photoshoot, the famous one from the intro music.  Carrie in her naked dress.  She wears it out to her first official date with Mr. Big.  She feels slutty, but in a good way.  Nothing wrong with "tits on toast"

The girls have a predate I dunno, party? to gab about how long women should wait to sleep with someone if they are serious about making a relationship work.  Sam thoughtfully says that a man can break up with you regardless of how soon you sleep with him, and Charlotte says that you should wait as long as possible and get all the feelings involved.

I say, do it when it feels right for you.  :shrugs shoulders:  But anyone who pressures you into doing it or keeps asking for lude pictures via text when you don't want to send them is not worth your time.  :nods:

Anywho, Carrie thinks that delayed gratification is a good thing, goes off to meet him downstairs in his town car (Mr Big never ever drives himself anywhere)

He takes one look at her in her naked dress and is like "I think I can control myself" and then they promptly fall on top of each other and fuck on the floor of her bedroom.  ><

Narrator Carrie says that she bets many great loves began with sex on the first date.  And if he never calls she'll fondly think of him.. as an asshole.  :D
They go out for cheap and easy food after the cheap and easy sex, to a generic Chinese food restaurant.  In it, Carrie runs into yet another friend of Carrie's who guest stars for only one episode.  She talks about him like they are good friends and we might see him again, but we don't.  He's out on a date with an average looking woman, maybe slightly plain.  This is important.  Her name is Libby, but he doesn't want to introduce her, and Carrie suspects that he is hiding her for some reason.

In the next scene, Miranda is kicking a punching bag in gym class.  She accidentally kicks the head of the guy who is spotting her, and they end up walking home together.  It's kinda cute, actually.  In her storyline, Miranda snoops through his apartment and finds a porno in his underwear drawer featuring some kind of mild S&M spanking and such.  She isn't sure she wants to deal with it, is encouraged by her friends to not judge till she spanks, and ends up revealing to him what she found.  He wasn't happy about having his secret sex in the open.  Poor guy.

Carrie goes to Bed Bath and Beyond with that friend of hers-- the one who is hiding his girlfriend- to ask about why he is hiding his girlfriend.  He talks about her in the nicest way, talks about how they met in the cheese shop where she works, how she is warm and loving.. but he isn't ready to date her openly.  He thinks that she isn't right for him.. I think he might just be being shallow, and so does Carrie.

Carrie asks Sam if she's ever had sex with someone she was embarrassed to talk about.  nope.  But, did you hear about Charlotte and the hisidic jew?  No, well, let's go down to the gallery where Charlotte works and ask her in public!  That's always nice.  Turns out, there was nothing much to it, except a giant FORESHADOW flag, but I don't even think the writers knew it was foreshadow, so I can't really give them credit for it.

Sam and Carrie also reveal the ad that we are all familiar with at this point.  They decide to plan a bus watching party, to watch her bus drive by IRL.  She invites Big, but he can't make it.  While out with him on the street, he seems to refuse to introduce her to one of his friends.  She is VERY suspicious about Big.  and also INCREDIBLY insecure.

At the grand reveal, the ad was defaced!  By a giant penis.  Poor Carrie.

The friend of Carrie says that Libby broke up with him!  She decided that she didn't want to settle with an asshole, and left him.  GO LIBBY!  :D

Finally, Carrie gets drunk and asks Big what his deal with.  Why didn't he want to introduce her to his friends and Why he didn't want to meet hers.  Turns out, it was a Big Nothing.  He couldn't remember the name of the guy who the met on the street, and he had tickets to some sort of sports ball at the same time as the bus party.  Calm the fuck down Carrie.  But also, don't date this guy.  He's trouble!

Anywho.. they make up and kiss and the music starts.

Overall, good episode.  I really would like to hear Libby and her friends talk shit about Carrie's friend and Libby's ex.  She seems really nice and sweet and giving, and he was such a wind stealer!
